Navigate and schedule incoming appointment requests from existing or potential new patients.

About Appointment Requests

New and existing patients can request an appointment with your organization.

Patients request an appointment from their dashboard, by

  1. Selecting 'Team' -> Ask a Question

  2. Select 'Appointments' as a category.

  3. Patients write a message to request an appointment -> then click 'Send.

Appointment requests from patients are viewed and managed in your messages inbox. You can easily schedule an appointment directly from the appointment request.

When patients request an appointment or ask a question to your organization, you will receive a notification. Notification settings can be found in your ' Profile & Account Settings' under 'Notifications.'


Viewing appointment requests

Please check your organization's account settings to make sure that appointment and message request settings are correct (see above).

When patients request an appointment or ask a question to your organization, you will receive a notification. Notification settings can be found in your ' Profile & Account Settings' under 'Notifications.'

Example:

"New message from Ora O. View and reply to the message on Mahmee. (Link)"

  1. Click the appointment request notification link and sign in to your account.

  2. In your Mahmee message inbox, you can see the appointment request and message from the patient.


Responding to appointment requests:

  1. Review details about the appointment request

  2. To proceed with the appointment request, select the 'Schedule Appointment' button to be taken to the appointment scheduler.

  3. To deny the appointment request, write a response back to the patient, then select 'Mark as Answered''

  4. All appointment requests (approved or denied) remain in the messages inbox.


Appointment request settings

Edit your organization's settings to enable appointment requests and incoming messages

  1. On your Admin dashboard, select 'Profile & Settings'

  2. Scroll down to 'Organization Settings'

3. Check the 'Allow patients to request appointments through Mahmee' box to allow appointment requests.

4. Check the 'Allow patients to send messages to your organization'

5. If patients are allowed to send messages to your organization, appointment requests will come through Mahmee Messages.

​Mahmee Tip: The appointment requests you see are based on your permission settings. If you have permission to "View All" patients, you can see appointment requests from all patients. If you have permission to "View Assigned Patients," you will only see requests from patients assigned to you.
