Document, store, and exchange information about a patient's care

An Interaction is a feature used by providers to document care regarding a patient that would not require an Appointment. It's a valuable way for providers on a patients Care Team to store and exchange information about a patient's care.

An Interaction can be with the patient or with another provider about a patient. For example, a phone call with the patient to follow up after an appointment, or maybe a phone call with another provider on the patients Care Team to discuss changing a treatment plan.

Interactions can be viewable to the patient and/or other members of the patients Care Team, depending on the settings selected by the provider who created the Interaction.


Documenting an Interaction

  1. Navigate to the patient's record.

  2. Select the Add Interaction button from the top action bar.

  3. Select the type of Interaction you are documenting. Select with whom the Interaction is with.

  4. Enter the start date and time and the end date and time of the Interaction. Time spent on an Interaction is calculated on a patient's record.

  5. Type your description of the Interaction.

  6. Select which providers can view the Interaction. You can choose between all the providers in your organization or all the providers on a patient's Care Team.

  7. Select if the Interaction should be visible to the patient.

  8. Select Add.

  9. The Interaction can now be viewed in the patient's record.


Editing an Interaction

(Depending on your account permissions set up by your organization's account admin, you may not be able to edit an Interaction.)

  1. Navigate to the patient's record.

  2. Select the Appointments & Interactions tab.

  3. Locate and select the Interaction to edit

  4. Edit the Interaction. You may edit the start date/time, end date/time, Interaction details, and Interaction visibility.

  5. Select 'Save' at the bottom of the page to save your edits.


Deleting an Interaction

(Depending on your account permissions set up by your organization's account admin, you may not be able to delete an Interaction.)

Deleted Interactions will still be visible to the provider and appear in red on a patient's Appointments & Interaction tab in their medical profile.

To delete an Interaction:

  1. Navigate to the patient's record.

  2. Select the Appointments & Interactions tab.

  3. Locate and select the Interaction to delete.

  4. Select 'Delete' at the bottom of the page.

  5. Confirm that you want to delete the Interaction
